Zugvogel Designs was founded by Sandra Mau in 2018. Her passion for good food, traveling, and textiles formed the foundation of her business. Sandra started drawing around the same time, launching her beloved animal textile collection, Zuli, in 2021. Splitting her time between Berlin, Palermo, and Sofia, Sandra always travels back home with new inspiration for her kitchen and her sketchpad.

As a self-trained artist, Sandra’s work is deeply personal and focused exclusively on animals. Her original drawings carry a charming, distinct character that makes each piece feel truly special and full of life.

Zugvogel’s newest chapter was again inspired by the spirit of traveling and heritage: an exclusive line of custom, one-off, hand-embroidered pieces made from luxurious linen and silk. This collection is born from a collaboration with skilled women artisans in Bulgaria, which deeply connects to Sandra’s family roots and the country’s historic embroidery tradition. By combining her signature, hand-drawn animals with generations of time-honored craftsmanship, Zugvogel creates premium, unrepeatable works of art designed to bring rare beauty into your home.
